To apply for a Sri Lanka e visa (Transit), the traveler need not require an invitation letter from any Institution/organization.

Passport criterion to apply for a Sri Lanka e visa (Transit)

The applicant’s passport/travel document must have a minimum of six (6) months validity from the date of arrival.

A passport requires two names.

  • Passports/Travel documents with have a single name will be declined. 
  • The traveler must have a minimum of two names in a Travel document including, the surname/family name is mandatory for applying for a Sri Lanka e visa.

Separate passport for Minors

Each traveler must have a separate passport, including a minor child. 

Ensure that your child’s travel document is valid at least for the next 06 (six) months from the minor child’s/applicant arrival date in Sri Lanka.
