Jet Blue Baggage Policy:

We are allowed with Carry-on baggage. One personal item and one carry-on item without a fee. If Hold luggage or Checked bag is not included in the selected fare, then applicable fees will be applicable. The cost of any checked bag does not include Blue, Basic Blue, and Blue Extra fares. Whereas one bag is included in Blue Plus fare, and two bags included in Mint fares. The fee will increase proportionately with the additional bags checked. Depending on the size and weight categories, the applicable fee per bag is chargeable for oversized and overweight bags. We might require paying applicable fees for specific sports equipment.

Jet Blue Carry-on Baggage Policy:

One personal item (a briefcase, purse, laptop bag) and one carry-on bag are permissible for each passenger. 

Size and Weight restrictions for a carry-on bag:

The maximum size of a carry-on bag shall not exceed 115 centimeters (56 x 36 x 23 centimeters) or 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 inches) that is inclusive of wheels and handles. We need to fit it in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of us.

Personal items’ size and weight restrictions vary based on the aircraft. Ninety-four centimeters (46 x 38 x 20 centimeters) or 41 linear inches (18 x 15 x 8 inches) is the maximum size of personal items in E190 and A320 aircraft. 94 centimeters (43 x 33 x 28 cm) or 41 linear inches (17 x 13 x 11 inches) is the maximum size of personal items in A321 aircraft. Personal items need to be fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of us. An umbrella, jacket, duty-free items, diaper bag, and assistive items (such as strollers, crutches, walkers, child restraint seats, wheelchairs, etc.) do not count towards our carry-on allowance. 

Keep in mind: In Bulkhead seats, we need to store all our carry-on baggage in the overhead bin at the time of take-off and landing (as under-seat storage is unavailable in those seats).

Jet Blue Hold Luggage or Checked Baggage Policy:

Fees will be applicable if checked bags are not inclusive in the selected fare. The cost of any checked bag does not include Blue fare. Whereas one bag is included in Blue Plus fare, and two bags included in Blue Flex fares. The fee will increase proportionately with the additional bags checked. The maximum weight is 23 kilograms or 50 pounds, and the maximum size is 62 inches or 157 cms (length + width + height). 

Is there any fee applicable for Baggage on Jet Blue?

Yes, fees might be applicable. Our destination, type of fare we had purchased, if we are serving US military personnel/dependent, if we have Mosaic status with Jet Blue TrueBlue program, determines the fee. Fees Jet Blue’s standard holds luggage or checked baggage for all flights are as follows. 35 USD for the first bag (Blue, Blue Basic, Blue Plus, and Blue Extra), 45 USD for the second bag (Blue, Blue Basic, Blue Plus, and Blue Extra), 150 USD for the third and additional bags (Blue, Blue Basic, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, and Mint Fares).

Keep in mind: We can avail 5 USD off on the cost of each of the first two checked bags. For availing this, we need to prepay the fee online (before 24 hours of departure). 

Jet Blue fee for excess baggage:

150 USD will be chargeable for the third and additional bags.

Keep in mind: 2 Checked Bags allowed for passengers traveling to/from Haiti, Trinidad, and Tobago, Peru, Dominican Republic. 5 Checked Bags are allowable for passengers traveling to and from Cuba.

Jet Blue fee for overweight baggage:

Following is the Jet Blue Baggage policy for baggage exceeding the standard 23 kilograms or 50 pounds. 150 USD extra per bag payable for bags weighing 24 to 45 kilograms or 51 to 99 pounds. Bags from 46 kilograms or 100 pounds will not be accepted as hold luggage or checked baggage. Bags exceeding 23 kilograms, or 50 pounds are not permissible on flights to/from Haiti, Dominican Republic, Trinidad, and Tobago. Bags exceeding 70 pounds are not permissible on flights to and from Peru and Lima.
