Travelers must have a medical certificate given within 10 days prior to arrival with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result.
On September 1, Malawi re-opened its airspace to a small number of weekly commercial flights. Travelers eligible for entry must have a medical certificate given within 10 days prior to arrival with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result and are subject to medical screening and must be self-quarantined for a period of 14 days.
Travelers will be forced to stay at the airport or testing center until the results of their COVID-19 test, usually within 24 hours, are known.
Upon arrival, a completed ‘Travel Surveillance Form’ must be provided.
Individuals who test positive for coronavirus upon arrival may be treated at a government facility for treatment. All other people will be forced to self-isolate for 14 days at home or in a government facility and will remain under health workers’ surveillance.
