Except for Mozambican citizens and foreign citizens with a valid residency visa, Mozambique has limited the entry of all travelers.
Except for Mozambican citizens and foreign citizens with a valid residency visa, entry to Mozambique is prohibited. All other visas that were issued prior to 1 April 2020 were canceled. It is not necessary, on arrival in Mozambique, to obtain a visa.
All people entering Mozambique will be forced to observe a 10-day duration of self-quarantine. For 14 days, visitors who have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 must separate themselves.
All passengers must submit evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test given in their country of departure within 72 hours of travel. Travelers who do not have the means of paying for a COVID-19 test can self-isolate on arrival for 14 days.
The state of emergency, previously in effect, extended the visas until 30 September. If your permission runs out on or after that date, you will now need to apply for a stay extension. To apply for the extension, all applicants must make an appointment. On the government website, you can make an appointment.
