The issuance of visas and exemptions shall be suspended.

Travelers who are eligible for entry must submit a medical certificate given within 72 hours of travel with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result upon arrival.

An exit travel ban has also been enforced in Brunei, including for permanent residents and expatriate employees (holders of a green identification card) and their dependents. The Exception will be treated on a case-by-case basis by the Prime Minister’s Office by emailing requests to travelapplication@jpm.gov.bn, providing 14 days ‘ notice of the intention to travel, and setting out the reasons why they need to leave the nation. There is full information available on the website of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Travelers from other countries wishing to enter Brunei may, by downloading the form given on the Department’s website at www.immigration.gov.bn, apply to the Brunei Immigration Department for special permission to enter the country. Travelers who have previously been allowed to join Brunei are subject to a COVID-19 screening at the cost of BND350 and will also be subject to a compulsory 15-day quarantine at their own expense in a government-approved facility.

The BruHealth app will be encouraged to download by travelers arriving in Brunei. Travelers will be prohibited from entering a variety of facilities without the software.
