All arriving visitors aged 5 or older must be issued a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result issued no more than 5 days prior to arrival. Health screening will be conducted on those without a medical certificate. Travelers will also be re-tested upon arrival, and the cost of 40JD (approximately $56) will need to be charged online in advance of their flight. For the duration of their stay, foreign/non-resident passengers must also have full medical insurance coverage. All travelers must complete an electronic request form at visitjordan.gov.jo 24 hours prior to departure. Via email, they will receive a confirmation code. While in Jordan, they will also need to install the “Aman” software for touch tracing. Before their next flight, the airline crew is subject to quarantine.

Depending upon the country of origin, strict quarantine laws are in place. Every 14 days, the list of countries and regions affected is reviewed.

Travelers who have been or have been passing through a green classified country or area must have a PCR test taken within 5 days prior to departure and bring the results of the test with them to Jordan. Travelers will take a second PCR test at Jordanian airports and will wait until the test results are available in the specified areas at the airport. If the check results are negative and the passenger has not been in touch with a person inside the aircraft who has tested positive, the passenger will be directed to passport control and free to enter the country. Travelers will be treated according to the health guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Health and will be transferred to one of the authorized hospitals for treatment in the event of a positive outcome. They will bear their treatment costs if the individual is non-Jordanian, but all passengers are expected to carry private foreign health insurance policies.

Arriving passengers who have been in touch with a positive case inside the aircraft and who are listed as “ people in contact ” may either return on board the same aircraft, if possible, or quarantine themselves at their accommodation for 7 days. On the 6th day of their arrival, another PCR test will be taken; if the test result is negative, after 7 days, the quarantine ends.

Travelers who have been or have been passing through a country or area identified as yellow and red must take a PCR test within 72 hours prior to departure and bring the test results to Jordan with them. Upon arrival at the airport in Jordan, travelers with a positive-negative COVID-19 PCR test result will be subject to a 7-day home quarantine and a negative COVID-19 PCR test. However, non-Jordanian nationals, which both check positive on arrival at the airport and have valid health insurance, will be sent to a quarantine center at the Dead Sea or a private hospital. If the insurance of an individual does not cover the entire cost of hospital care for the duration of the illness, the government of Jordan will return the individual to his or her country of origin.
