With the exception of Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian nationals and permanent residents and travelers who are EEA or UK nationals and traveling from within the EEA or the United Kingdom or other EU Green List countries, Latvia has limited the entry of all travelers.

Except for Latvian, Estonian, and Lithuanian nationals and permanent residents, Latvia has prohibited the entry of all travelers. Nationals and residents of the Member States of the EEA and the United Kingdom can enter the country if they travel from within the EEA or the United Kingdom. Latvia can still be entered by spouses or minor children of Latvian citizens, representatives of government delegations, and transit passengers.

It is required that all those who wish to enter Latvia from 12 October onwards will complete and apply an electronic form no earlier than 48 hours prior to their arrival in Latvia.

From 17 September, the time of self-isolation for asymptomatic travelers will be shortened from 14 to 10 days. Travelers who have been in touch with an infected person with COVID-19 or who work as a medical professional, teacher, or social worker in Latvia are still expected to isolate themselves for 14 days.

In these countries, the Government of Latvia tracks COVID-19 rates, and travelers arriving from countries with more than 15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants will be expected to isolate themselves for 10-14 days on arrival. You will find up-to-date data on the website of the Government of Latvia. Currently, citizens of Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay are also required to enter Latvia. This list is updated by the EU every two weeks, and you will find it here. Starting from July 16, upon arrival, all travelers are expected to complete a contact form listing the address they will stay at upon arrival for contact tracing.
