South Africa has rebooted the country’s commercial flights. However, for tourism or leisure purposes, the South African authorities will not grant entry to anyone traveling from a high-risk region.
Only in Cape Town (CPT), Durban (DUR), or Johannesburg (JNB) may travelers arrive.
Travelers must have a medical certificate taken within 72 hours prior to departure with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result. Travelers arrived in South Africa are medically checked and must have the COVID Alert South Africa mobile app-enabled. Many that have symptoms will have to continue in isolation until a COVID-19 test is performed.
Visitors without a medical certificate with a negative test result for Coronavirus (COVID-19) are subject to quarantine at their own expense at a government-appointed facility.
