The Swedish Government announced on 2 July that citizens and long-term residents of the EEA countries, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Vatican City, persons with Swedish residency permits and members of their family, irrespective of the intention of travel, may now enter Sweden. Swedish visa holders and individuals with a visa for another EEA country over 3 months can also join, as may individuals with a ‘critical intent’ such as healthcare staff, health researchers, and students attending a Swedish institution.

In addition, citizens can also join Sweden from Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay. It is also possible to reach Sweden with diplomats, border workers, healthcare staff, transport employees, aid workers, and travelers traveling for urgent family reasons.
