WHAT IS A GERMAN TOURIST VISA for US RESIDENTS?

The German tourist visa is a single or multiple-entry visa, and it is valid for 180 days from the date of approval. This visa allows the holder to visit Germany for tourism only.

Eligible nationalities can enter Germany for tourism purposes with 90 days validity.

WHAT ARE THE GERMAN TOURIST VISA REQUIREMENTS?

Passport: It must be three (3) months minimum validity from the date of reach in Germany.

Residence visa:  Valid USA residence visa or valid USA alien registration card.

Round trip flight tickets:  Confirmed two-way flight tickets and full itinerary with the name of the passenger.

Proof of accommodation: Hotel booking, confirmation, stating name, phone number, and address of the hotel, with confirmation number and name of the guest. Provide one photocopy also.

Proof of sufficient:  Provide bank statements of the last three months with your name. If the bank statements are with your spouse’s name or other family member’s name, submit your marriage certificate or proof of relationship and also submit their working certificate.

Health Insurance: This document is issued in the USA or Germany, including a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS FOR TOURIST VISA REQUIREMENTS:

Minor:

Separate application form and documents for each minor child,

The visa application must be signed by both parents unless one parent has sole custody or a residence order for the minor. In this case, please provide proof of the sole custody (e.g., birth certificate of the child, adoption papers, a court decision on custody); original + one copy.

  • Original passports from both parents and one photocopy
  • Original birth date certificate of each child and one photocopy

In case both guardians are unable to appear at the appointment, the minor has to provide a notarization letter of travel consent issued by the parents with notarized signatures and passport photocopies.

Employment Status:

If the applicant is employed: Applicant should provide a recent letter from employer, which must include employment date of starting, title of job, annual income, and vacation period. You must include your last three pay slips.

If the applicant is Self-employed: Provide Letter from the employer, which must include employment start date, job title, annual salary, and vacation period. Provide business license and income tax returns (plus one copy).

If the applicant is Unemployed: Provide a NOC letter (No Objection Letter).

If the applicant is a Retired person: Provide a Retirement letter.

If the applicant is a Student: Provide a letter from School.
