Requirements for Passports based on Turkey visa policy:

All travelers need a passport, except the following as per Turkey visa policy:

  • ‘Kinderausweis’ passengers gave a German identification document to children less than 16 years old. For children younger than ten years of age, there is no requirement for the document to include a picture of the infant.
  • The national identification card is valid for France, Greece, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Spain, or Switzerland.
  • With a national identification card, German citizens.
  • As long as they travel on service, Albania, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Malaysia, and Morocco have a Seaman Guide.
  • Refugees with a travel document released under the Geneva Convention of 1951, known as the ‘Titre de Voyage.’
  • Travelers with a temporary German-issued passport
  • The United Nations gives travelers a Laissez-Passer.
  • Emergency travelers with passports issued by Austria and the Netherlands
  • Citizens of Belgium with provisional national identification cards.
  • Israeli residents with Israeli-issued travel papers
  • Travelers released by any nation with ‘Alien passports’
  • Travelers with a Seaman Book, given that people of Bangladesh, Egypt, Albania, Iraq, Malaysia, and Morocco are traveling on duty.
  • With temporary visas, Swiss citizens.
  • Travelers with a ‘Laissez-Passer’ given by every country

The Validity of Document based on Turkey visa policy:

For the planned visit, passports and alternative documents, or any of them, must be valid as per Turkey visa policy.

  • With passports or alternative papers that must be valid on arrival, Turkish people may join.
  • When applying for a visa upon arrival, passports must be valid for at least three months longer than the validity of the visa for Iraqi citizens.
  • With travel documents that must be valid on arrival, residents of Turkey can join.
  • Expired passports issued to Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Spain, or Switzerland for a period not exceeding five years are accepted.
  • German citizens can enter for not more than one year with an expired national identification card or with a ‘Kinderausweis,’ a German identification document issued to children under 16 years of age.

Additional Information for Turkey visa policy:

  • If they have already been deported, citizens of Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine will not enter Turkey.
  • Travelers with travel documents written in their language and not in the alphabet of the Latin language will not be able to enter and will be deported.
  • If it is evident from the records of non-Turkish travelers that they originally had Turkish nationality, this would mean that, without the permission of the Turkish government, the traveler could have gained the new nationality. The Turkish authorities would, in that situation, consider the traveler to be a Turkish resident. Such travelers should ask about potential outcomes before arriving in Turkey.
  • The national Italian identification card must indicate that it is given to an Italian resident.

The Minors:

Travelers aged 18 years or younger may be eligible for a parent’s passport as per Turkey visa policy.

Issuance of Visa according to Turkey visa policy:

1. Until arrival: Visitors are kindly requested to contact Turkey’s nearest representation.

2. Upon arrival: American citizens can, upon arrival, obtain a single-entry visa for a fee of EUR 15 or USD 20 if they remain for a duration not exceeding three months, given that they have diplomatic, official, service, and special passports;

3. Upon arrival: A visa may be given free of charge to Bahraini or Omani citizens if necessary, provided that they have a unique, diplomatic, service, or official passport.

4. Upon arrival: Bahraini or Omani citizens can obtain a visa for a fee of EUR 15 or USD 20 if they have a regular passport;

5. On arrival: Travelers with an ‘Alien’s Passport’ issued by Latvia may be issued a visa.

6. Upon arrival: a visa may be given free of charge to Iraqi citizens holding a regular passport and staying for a maximum of 30 days only at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, provided that they arrive from Amman, Baghdad, Erbil, or Soleymania, and provided:

a. They’ve got:

  • a passport which must be valid for at least three months beyond the validity of the visa to be requested as per Turkey visa policy; and
  • a return ticket and a verified booking at the hotel; or

b. They fly for business only and:

  • the possession of a residency permit or a valid visa for any Member State of the European Union, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, or the United States of America;
  • Fly to any European country or country on the American continent in a westerly direction.

7. Upon arrival: Jordanian citizens can, upon arrival, obtain a multiple-entry visa for a fee of approximately EUR 20 or USD 30 if they stay for a duration not exceeding one month, as long as they have diplomatic, official, service, and special passports.

8. On arrival: Romanian citizens may obtain a visa for a stay of up to one month, subject to a fee of EUR 15 or USD 10, given that they have a regular passport and are residents of a country other than one of the Member States of the European Union, Japan, Canada, Switzerland or the United States of America.

9. Upon arrival: If necessary, the following travelers can obtain a visa, provided that they have standard passports:

  • A multiple-entry visa can be obtained by travelers staying for no more than three months provided they are citizens of:
  • Malta, who can get a free visa;
  • Austria, Bahamas, Australia, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Belgium, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Netherlands, Maldives, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Saint Kitts-Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Slovenia or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which are valid for a visa of EUR 15 or USD 20;
  • Canadian citizens who can obtain a visa for a fee of EUR 45 or USD 60, respectively
  • Travelers staying for no more than two months can obtain a multiple-entry visa for between EUR 10 and 15 or USD 15 and 20, provided they are citizens of Albania, Belarus, or Russia.
  • Residents of Cyprus, Hungary, Jordan, Armenia, Lithuania, Mauritius, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and South Africa can obtain a multiple-entry visa for a fee of between EUR 10 and 20, or USD 15 and 30 for stays of no more than one month.
  • A single-entry visa for a fee of EUR 15 or USD 20 may be given to travelers staying for no more than one month, provided that they are American citizens;
  • A multiple-entry visa can be obtained for a fee of GBP 10, EUR 15, or USD 20 for travelers staying for no more than three months, given they have British passports approved:
  • ‘British National (Overseas)’ as long as a note that the bearer is a Hong Kong resident is included in the passport; or’ British Citizen.’
  • Travelers staying for no more than three months can obtain a multiple-entry visa for a fee of EUR 20 or USD 30, given that Ukrainian citizens are present.

10. upon arrival: Citizens of the United Arab Emirates can obtain a visa if they have a diplomatic passport and remain for a maximum of 90 days.

Exemptions from visa according to Turkey visa policy

All travelers must carry a visa except for the following as per Turkey visa policy:

1. People of Turkey.

2. Turkey’s international nationals with a re-entry or residency permit.

3. Travellers remaining for no more than three months, they have regular passports are citizens of:

  • People’s Republic of China (A Special Administrative Area of China) with passports issued by Hong Kong;
  • Cyprus, living in the portion of Cyprus not controlled by the Government of Cyprus; that is, whether it arrives from the airports of Ercan or the ports of Famagusta, Kyrenia or Katavostassi;
  • Argentina, Bolivia, Andorra, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Republic of Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Denmark, Monaco, Republic of Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Paraguay, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Uruguay, Singapore, Vatican City, and Venezuela;

4. Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Indonesia is keeping diplomatic, official, service, or special passports, staying for a time not exceeding two months.

5. According to Turkey visa policy, travelers who stay for no more than 30 days, given that they are:

  • People with standard passports from Azerbaijan, Latvia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan;
  • Romanian citizens holding ordinary passports and living in one of the Member States of the European Union, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, or the United States of America, provided that they possess proof of residence;
  • Citizens of the People’s Republic of China (Special Administrative Region of China) with passports provided by Macao

6. According to Turkey visa policy, travelers who stay for no longer than three months, given that they are:

  • Citizens of Algeria, Andorra, Albania, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Brazil, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Finland, France, Gambia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Iceland, Japan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Republic of Kosovo, Bahamas, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritania, Lithuania, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Saint Lucia, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vietnam, Holy see, holding particular, service, diplomatic or official passports;
  • Citizens of Cyprus, living in a part of Cyprus not controlled by the Government of Cyprus; that is, whether they arrive from the airports of Ercan or the ports of Famagusta, Kyrenia, or Katavostassi, given that they have a diplomatic, official, service or special passport;
  • People with diplomatic passports from Afghanistan, Estonia, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

7. According to Turkey visa policy, travelers who stay for no more than 90 days, given that they are:

  • Latvian people with passports for particular, diplomatic, or service purposes
  • People of India with diplomatic passports.
  • Unique, diplomatic, official, or service passports of citizens of Colombia and Paraguay
  • With official or diplomatic passports, residents of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

8. Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia keep regular passports for no more than two months.

9. Travelers who stay for no more than one month, given that they are:

  • Citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Costa Rica, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, the Republic of Moldova, the Philippines, Mongolia, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Venezuela or Yemen, keeping special, diplomatic, or official passports;
  • Travelers with diplomatic Palestinian VIP travel documents;
  • People of Estonia with diplomatic passports.
  • People of Bulgaria with diplomatic and service passports;

10. People with standard passports from Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, or Kyrgyzstan remain for no more than one month.

(Transit without Visa) TWOV according to Turkey visa policy:

1. TWOV is allowed to begin its onward or return journey within three days for Romanian citizens with usual passports on condition that they have confirmed onward or return tickets according to Turkey visa policy. No hotel accommodation at the airport is available.

2. Travelers begin their return or onward journey on the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours as long as they have confirmed onward or return tickets without leaving the airport as per Turkey visa policy. No hotel accommodation at the airport is available. When traveling from Iraq to either America or Europe, the TWOV facility does not extend to Iraqi residents.

Additional Information:

1. According to Turkey visa policy, visa exemption is allowed for 90 days for Colombian citizens to keep a business, unique, official, or diplomatic passport within six months.

2. Travellers of Turkish descent with a ‘Nufus Card’ (a Turkish Identification Card) and a valid passport of their acquired nationality are deemed, Turkish citizens. They do not need a visa to enter Turkey.

3. Travellers must also have tickets and all appropriate documentation for return or onward travel if a visa is required.

  • The exemptions: Australian residents, American citizens, and British passport passengers, regardless of passport endorsement relating to their citizenship.

4. They must alert the immigration police and obtain a residency permit created upon departure if travelers overstay their visit.

5. Because of the swine flu (H1N1) epidemic, all travelers from infected countries arriving in Turkey are expected to fill in a health declaration form, which is released on board. Members of the airline crew must comply with the instructions given by the Turkish authorities.

6. The transport carrier would deport travelers without adequate money to cover the costs of their visit to Turkey and their clean appearance as per Turkey visa policy.

7. Information to know: For citizens of the following countries, it is essential to have the following:

  • Algeria, Afghanistan, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bahamas, Botswana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde Island, Burundi, Republic of Central Africa, Chad, China, Comoros Island, Congo, Congo, Costa Rica, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Eretria, Gambia, Ghana, Gabon, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, India, Iran, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Jamaica, and Madagascar
  • Maldives, Mali, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Namibia, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
  • For citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Russia, or Ukraine to be able to reach Turkey, USD 300 must be at least USD 50 per day to cover the cost of their stay;
  • To cover the expenses of their intended visit, citizens of Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan must have at least USD 30 a day;
  • To cover the expenses of their stay, Iraqi people must have at least USD 35 per day.

Information to Know for Turkey visa policy:

If travelers do not comply with entry rules, they will be refused entry and deported on the same day on the same plane based on Turkey visa policy. A fine ranging between USD 1,000 and USD 3,000 will be imposed on the carrier if the procedure takes 24 hours.

Customs and Foreign Exchange:

Regulations for importation based on Turkey visa policy:

No importation limits exist for:

  • Medicines intended for personal use;
  • Gift articles for a minimum sum of EUR 300 (EUR 145 for children under 15 years of age);
  • Five bottles (each of 120 milliliters) of perfume;
  • One kilo of coffee; one kilo of instantaneous coffee; 500 grams of tea; one kilo of sweets;
  • Older than 18 years of age: 1 bottle of one liter or two bottles of 700/750 milliliters of wine and alcoholic beverages;
  • Older than 18 years of age: 50 grams coffee or 200 grams of hookah tobacco or 200 grams of chewing tobacco (with 200 cigar papers) and five cigarettes (each with a maximum weight of three grams), 200 cigars, and ten cigars.

Regulations on exports based on Turkey visa policy:

The following export restrictions do not exist:

1. 5 kilograms of alcoholic beverages or 12 bottles of either Raki or local beverages, 2 kilograms or three bottles of local tobacco products and foodstuffs, up to a total amount of TRY 100, not exceeding 5 kilograms for each product.

2. Gift products with a value of up to TRY 5,000. If additional goods are exported, proof that foreign currency has been exchanged for an amount more significant than TRY 5,000 is needed. It is forbidden to make grain goods, spices, antiques, cacao, coffee, and tea.

Pets:

According to Turkey visa policy, a certificate of good health is mandatory for importing cats and dogs. As far as cargo, as travelers checked luggage or in the cabin, pet animals may enter.

Regulations on Baggage Clearance based on Turkey visa policy:

Airport authorities should clear the luggage of a passenger at the airport of entry in Turkey.

a. The exception:

As per Turkey visa policy, the Baggage of transit passengers is linked to an airport with customs facilities inside Turkey.

  • Turkish people traveling abroad must pay a departure tax of USD 50 as per Turkey visa policy.

  • The export of local currency (New Turkish Lira-TRY) and foreign currencies up to USD 5,000 or its equivalent is allowed to non-residents and Turkish citizens living and working abroad. With an entry referring to this in the passport, higher amounts should be reported to the customs upon arrival. A bank receipt is required for amounts more significant than the equivalent of USD 5,000 in the case of a re-exchange of local currency into foreign currency.
